In India, Odisha is such a State which is not only famous for its proud history, furious King, Samrats and State of the Art Monuments but it is also famous for it's richness and glory in it's foods and cuisine.
However, food is that, without which nobody in this world can stay or live, or you can say "No Food means no lives on Earth".
In this post I am going to present you my views regarding different cuisines of Odisha which people used enjoy while taking them in their mouths.
In Odisha 78% of the peoples are farmers. That's why the main crop that is being cultivated in Odisha is Rice.
There are different items of Rice found in Odisha.

Abhada
Abhada is also know as the “Lord Jagannath's Maha Prasad” which is price less. Thousand of people and tourist around the world come on the daily basis to this holy place “Puri” just to have this Maha Prasad and get blessed from Prabhu Shri Jagannath..!! People had strong believe on Lord Jagannath. The oldest and most famous city of Lord Jagannath where devotees had strong believe & faith over their Lord and each year the famous “Rath Yatra” festival takes place.
This Abhada is famous among the Odia peoples. Peoples of Puri take it on a daily basis. “60- Pauti Bhog” is served to the Lord Jagannath as prasad and then after it is being distributed among the devotees of Lord Jagannath. Around 500 cooks and 300 helping hands prepare 56 different offerings known as “Mahaprasad” or “Abhada” for Lord Jagannath, which are served to the deity six times a day.
The kitchen has 32 rooms, 752 stoves and nine earthen pots.The meals include seven different types of rice, four types of pulses, nine types of vegetables and different items of sweet dishes. Fine molasses, instead of sugar is used for preparing sweet dishes. Potatoes, tomatoes and cauliflower are not used in the temple.
Every meal that is prepared has a name like Jagannath Ballabh, ladu, mathapuli, sarapuli and many others.
In one hour, food for one lakh (one hundred thousand) devotees can be prepared in the kitchen.Temple cooks say there is no limit to the quantity of offerings made.
It is not written in any book how much rice is to be cooked. Food is cooked for the devotees who come. Devotees consider the holy offerings as being as important as the prayers offered at the holy place.

Arua Rice
This rice is also famous among the Oriya families during the rituals. In different kinds of Puja this rice is being offered to the Gods and Goddess. Special Kheer is also prepared with this rice among the families. Children love to eat this kind of “Kheer”.
Usuna Rice
This rice is very much common among the families of Oriya peoples. You can find most of Oriya peoples preferred to take this rice during their meal in a regular basis.
